Organizations & Society Name: Roll No: Class: Teacher: Subject: November 23, 2007 University: Introduction This paper intends to throw light on the role of organizations that has transformed the society into a structured experience for individuals and continue to influence the relationship of individual to humanity and environment. The cutting rim of contemporary science and technology has shifted, in its objective, further than the release of human’s land to the abolition of human beings. Such stories of abandoning the depression of personal life exist of course for a long period; new shapes have taken place in the modern era. The probability of accomplishment, through the courtesy of new scientists, is anybody’s guess. The most recognizable form of this hallucination in our era is inherited engineering specifically: particularly, the vision of designing improved human beings by enhancing their biological arrangements. But still more theatrical are the suggestions of small, grave, and skillful assembly of toiler in the areas of fake intelligence and automatics. Their aim is a new era of post-biological existence, a world of intellect with no bodies, eternal uniqueness with no restraints of illness, death and discontented desire. Commencement of Transformation The story of how the human beings have organized themselves into machine societies commence in this manner: As a long-standing commencement with Big-Bang, the growth of planned systems, of which life of human being and intelligence are moderately new examples, enhances speed eventually. Likewise, as a long-standing trend starting with the primary automated calculators; the beginning of computing ability enhances in speed over time. (Calás, M.and Smircich, L. 1991) If human beings are just apparatus that can be made better, if the parts of human being are expendable by others, after that it substances little if they are build biologically or in different manner. That is much appropriate for the life of a human body but the question arises about the life of a person’s mind. Not only is that life occurs from biological instruments of minds, but the knowledge through automation is already practical realism. Human beings are not cognizant of actual world; it is mind’s processing of their body’s sensory contribution. Awareness is fundamentally subjective and significantly remarkable. We deduce it in neighbors, zoo animals etc from external symbols that apparently communicate to internal conditions we experience in a straight line. Asking computers to reveal such external signs has been sacred grail of fake aptitude since famous test of automated intelligence was invented by Alan Turing. (Alvesson, M. and Sveningsson, S. 2003) Accomplishments by Human Beings When human uniqueness comes to be stated as no more than a specific biological pattern, it is alike all such patterns, a passing occurrence on a progress scale. In the long-run, the survival of human being will need alterations that are not of their choice. As human being continue to organize themselves into machines, some of us will have to be disposed of and replaced by new elements to be compatible with altering circumstances and evolving opponents. Although we are eternal, we shall die part by part if we have to achieve accomplishment in the qualifying episode-sustained survival. Each time every human being will be totally altered, formed more by outside confrontations than by their own requirements. Our present recollections and curiosities, having misplaced their significance, will at most finish up in a grimy archive. If the scenario is sighted in this manner, personal eternity by brain transplant in a method whose basic advantages to provisionally pamper the receptiveness and sloppiness of individual human being. Mechanized Behavior of World The modern form of organizing continues to influence relationship to humanity and environment but can poor expect a better life from this modern shape of organization. It in fact relies on the mechanized behavior of world, not only of developed countries but also the rich segments of the under-developed countries, where they frequently safe guard themselves against foreign investment’s impact, frightened that they will not succeed in accomplishing the economic power within their states. (Charles T. Rubin. 2003) In today’s world organizations are the strongest recipients of economic benefits and mechanism. Due to their enormous productivity, they collected a marvelous amount of affluence and strength, particularly in the nineties. Resultantly they now represent the most creative organization in the modern era. These thoughtful economic and communal alterations are the consequences of using latest administration abilities. There is a broad range of provoking economic development; enhancing actions and markets in their own pasture that means creation of new jobs and enhancement of wealth; helping aid proposals. It is also an option for the organization to depict the reasons for their leadership, an opportunity for the usage of special management capabilities to decrease deficiency in the world thereby improving employment of public and sources for the common superiority. Creation of New Employment Opportunities The voluntary donations by Rockefeller, Ford and Carnegie helped to promote hospitals, universities and libraries. Comparison with customary philanthropy, there exist new strategies for supporting the poor segments in the social sectors. Growth of organizations has supported the expansion of benefits for all members of society. For example ‘Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’, for providing finance to international vaccination and ‘Turner Foundation’, that promotes international children programs for health and environment. (Due Billing, Yvonne and Mats Alvesson 2000) In today’s world, organizations have finest probability to influence human being’s influence on humanity and environment. The creation of employment opportunities is the most urgent requirement, particularly in under developed countries. For instance in Sao Paulo about sixty percent of youth in the age ranging from fifteen and nineteen years have no employment opportunities. It is thus suitable to say that esteem of a person commence with an occupation able to produce some private income. Role of NGOs The best possible method for organization to support society is the formation and growth of private foundations and NGOs. In a non-governmental organization, every owner of organization can apply the type of management abilities that can transform his into a successful businessman. The roles of organizations have a significant contribution to support the structured experience for individual and continue to influence the relationship to humanity and environment. What are the reasons for organizations influencing the relationship to humanity and environment? In fact there are many humanitarian motives but there is a tangible self-curiosity; no body can sustain their leading place. Fundamentally, it is the similar reason that guided Henry Ford to increase payments to his employees that ultimately allowed his employees for buying new cars There seems to be no probable distinction in the ideas that can be classified as scientific and those as classified to be philosophical or found between scientific thoughts and political, religious or artistic ideas. For about two centuries from now the communication of organization with society has been the basic driver of communal and cultural modification, preliminary in the West, then across the world, at an increased speed. During this era, social and individual worth and relationships: communal, political and monetary organizations; cultural values and actions have altered and keep on altering almost further than anything our grandparents or in some cases even parents would identify. There are elements like telephone, airplanes, computer and automobile etc that appear to be reason of communal alteration. But recognizing these objects does not arrive down to the grounds of innovation itself. It also does not expose the characteristics of socio-cultural infrastructure that facilitates innovations to transform into the reasons of social change. New World of Dot-Com The new ideas thoughts influence society in unforeseen ways. The most ideal example is the development of Internet from a United States Department of Defense-funded financed computer network plan to a worldwide technology that has changed commerce, political, education, industry, communication, research and warfare. The unexpected are still being extended and at times the worrying effects of some innovative thoughts that facilitate computers in a variety of locations to split information in actual time, thoughts that motivate the amazing capabilities of Internet. Affect of Society on Thoughts Not only television, Internet or the automobiles have altered society but powers at labor in community have made automobiles, Internet and Television to own the altering structures they take. One of these strengths is ideas-new innovative ideas, initiating in the past and later on internalized by community. These ideas have structured both our community and cultural relationships and the appearances along which community is most open for alteration. For example, the ideas those are regulation of nature appears to reveal a political thought. There is no hesitation that mathematical and artistic thoughts were in the center of seventeenth century scientific revolution. Besides, differentiating science and technology is fluffy too- particularly since latest nineteenth century, when technological modernism and technical information commenced to be mingled methodically in academic, government and industrial research oriented bodies In fact it is the factor of time that is lively and not just an inactive measure of alteration. A chemical atom is an appearance of general thought of basic units with permanent possessions from which nature is collected. The cell hypothesis, the germ theory of disease can be termed as abstractly related to the atom thought- to the commanding view that natural occurrence can be examined in the circumstances of basic building blocks. There are enhanced stylish scientific thoughts of the twentieth century comprising relativity, quantum theory, the growing universe, knowledge theory, computer science, molecular biology and the design of systems and the associated thoughts of ecology. Fundamentals of each band consider that organizations are mismatched with person’s liberty. While people have massive capabilities to imagine and perform, organizations avoid the bulk of people from mounting these capabilities. Therefore if it is desired that a society in which the entire blossoming of personal competencies can develop into realism the organizations are to end the mechanical views. Negative Impact by Organizations on the Lives of Individual Marx was of the view that new community would be like something where production was organized jointly in which the objective was to generate a society where individual was accessible to every product and in which output of community was disseminated relatively equality. The matter to be considered is that whether the functioning class is able of satisfying the role that has been set by Marx. Today the accords among fundamentals are that it is not possible. It had quite a time to perform so far but did not do so. The history of organizations reveal that individuals has frequently included compulsory labor over time, gradually leading part of this class comprise forced workers that were preliminary independent for working in any organization and also independent from non-human methods of production. Organizations by nature are expansionary economic structure. They push confined markets into national markets and further into global market. Since income is reliant on individual, the persistent growth of organization, the force to exploit both income and progress, which is in the core of organization, seems to continuously enhance individual more and split the world in different classes (Alvesson, Mats 1996) The growth and progress of organizations need continuously revolutionizing of methods of production that needs methodical thinking, that is, the progress of science and technology. The continuous progress of organizations opens the possibility of high degree of material soothe for individual, along with decrease in the time that every individual must dedicate to work. The question is whether organizations can accomplish what they establish. The answer should be in negative due to the system that is adopted by organizations and also they present insurmountable restrictions to an abundant existence. Organizations generate and repeatedly replicate a rough progress within nations. The abundance is concentrated in some nations and in the hands of some individuals. It is not just that the standards of individuals have improved but this improvement has been possible by the progress and growth of organizations. The material live of persons and the relatively high incomes have been made better with the growth of organizations due to the enhancement in technology and science. Higher incomes, benefits of every kind, a finish to random workplaces, safety against the insecurities of down sizing, illness, old age, the feeling of freedom, right to vote, safer workplaces and the overall betterment of societies are only possible due to the advanced mechanized organizations. Once an individual is successful in accomplishing some of their requirement, they unavoidably develop a chance in status quo. This may be factual association of organizations with the members of society. Growth at the Cost of Environment The growth of modern organizations is mainly due to materialistic ideology that is derived by the causes for profits and also for accomplishments of enhanced standard of living. Resultantly the economic progress, affluence and advanced technology were accomplished in the last century that had made the lives of individual simpler and comfortable, as it is realized that during the years of competitive progress and development was at the cost of environment and survival of humanity all together. As we move thoughtlessly ahead with the supposed economic growth avoiding the marks of nature, the time has come to answer to some of the primary questions regarding the objectives and goals set by the society itself. We also have to reassess whether the current method of economic progress and expansion will lead to factual advancement or to the entire obliteration. (Basit A.2007) Summary The recent research have concluded that the recurrent natural disasters affirm that if we continue to chase the present progress and development the society is on the path of devastations. So the most immediate step is to terminate those methods adopted by organizations that could lead to devastation. The search should be for the methods promoting sustainable growth and development. The influence of organization to transform society into structured experience for individuals has continued its impact on the relationship to humanity and environment. The different mediums for instance television, Internet and automobiles have altered the routine of society. The induction of Internet has altered almost all spheres of life including education, industry, communication and political. The unexpected is being enhanced and the anxious effects of innovative ideas that facilitate computers in different locations to divide information in real time. For the last two decades the social and individual relationships are changing continuously. These changes have occurred mainly due to the technological advancements and growth of organizations. The foundations of influencing individuals by organizations in fact commenced by persons like Ford, Rockefeller and Carnegie. In the today’s word there is a wider provoking economic development thereby enhancing activities and markets in their own meadows for the creation of new employment opportunities and enhancement of wealth thus heavily influencing their impact on the daily lives of individuals.
