Therefore, the organization makes a design strategy exercise positioning performance excellence in all activities that take place at every department. All maintenance departs follow a set guideline within the organization. This helps all stakeholders to understand the requirements of activities in each department. The following information illustrates different shapes and functions of an airline maintenance organization. Production Production in an Airline Maintenance Organization entails use of different skills in order to ensure that building and maintaining of aircrafts adheres with the set standards. Production involves labors of different individuals specialized in handling certain obligations. The specialized staff assists the production department in establishing various safety standards. Moreover, the production department is also entitled to introduce means of avoiding faults that could have later consequences (Kinnison, 2004). Assurance and adequacy in the production department involve a number of various levels in an Airline Organization. The production system also involves service of the company’s quality control surveillance. Inspectors employed for production services assist in reviewing and approving manufacturing procedures in order to enhance safety standards. Another obligation of the officers is to check the quality of control systems (Kinnison, 2004). In case of occurrence of any lapse in the production department, inspectors increase analysis and review visits in all production sections. Planning Planning is a resource that assists stakeholders in an organization to run reliable programs. One of the main reasons of offering effective planning is to save money. This is done by maintaining aircrafts to a higher standard. Another significance role of planning is to assist in upgrading various technical functions. Moreover, planning assists in improving efficiency. Therefore, through proper planning, the organization is able to meet various regulatory requirements. Another significance advantage of planning is that the organization manages monitor and identify problems that might emerge during aircraft operations. Proper planning also helps the organization to minimize maintenance and repair costs (Castro, 2011). Airframe Repair Airframe repair entails designing and construction of various parts and assemblies of an aircraft. The function of maintenance organization in relation to airframe repair is to enhance that the quality of metals used in the construction comply with the set standards. The organization makes sure that engineers and mechanics comply with aviation standards related to airframe repair. The organization makes sure that repairing of aircrafts is made in due time. In most cases, aircraft repair is conducted after a certain set calendar time or flight hours. The organization also manages to make sure that besides various parts that are due for replacement, all other parts are checked for faults. Hydraulics An aircraft hydraulic system is entitled to perform many functions. For example, some of the system that carry out their operations with the help of hydraulics include flight control, speed brakes, auxiliary systems and many others. Operations of hydraulics on these units are of significant advantages that include ease of installation. Hydraulics also offers an advantage of lightweight and minimum maintenance requirement in aircraft. However, certain disadvantages associated with hydraulics tend to be problematic regular check-ups. One of these advantages includes the possibility of leaking. When there is an internal or external leak, the whole system may become inoperative. Another disadvantage of the hydraulic is that contamination of particles may lead to the breakdown of the system. The maintenance organization plays a role of ensuring that the hydraulic system runs as recommended in order to ensure there is efficiency. The organization performs this obligation through regular check-up of the hydraulics by specialized inspectors. Maintenance Maintenance of aircrafts is a process that takes place regularly. Proper maintenance is essential as it helps the aircrafts to retain optimal conditions. Maintaining aircrafts according to the set standards is essential because it helps in ensuring there is the safety of pilots, crews and all passengers. All parts in aircraft require to be checked on a regular base and all parts examined and maintained accordingly. The obligation of maintenance organization is to ensure that the necessary parts are changed in order to comply with the safety standards. Some of the maintenance tasks, that the organization makes sure they are performed according to the set standards, include cleaning of aircrafts. Another task is lubricating various parts of the aircraft. Moreover, the organization through its officials inspects whether there is any wear and tear on the aircrafts. Another maintenance task includes checking all the fuel systems operate as recommended. Moreover, the organization makes sure that all the electronic systems work as per the set standard. Engineer Engineers play a key role in ensuring that aircrafts are in the right conditions and operate successfully. The other role of engineers is to ensure that they manage to detect any faultless probably to cause later consequences. The main role of an Aircraft maintenance organization is to make sure that engineers comply with the rule of ethics as recommended through the set standards. The main role of engineers in relation to maintenance of aircrafts is ensuring that there is safety of all the passengers and chances of accident occurrence are minimal (Kinnison, 2004). Engineers have an obligation of applying their knowledge to assist in development and maintaining of aircrafts according to the set standards. Rules and regulations are employed to ensure that engineers adhere with their call of duty and have competency in their work. This helps in minimizing loss of cost and lives if an accident occurs after a shoddy work by engineers. Quality Control Quality control entails inspecting that all the maintenance done on aircraft complies with the set standards. Maintenance has to meet all the standards established by the manufacturing company. Moreover, maintenance has to comply with the set standards of Federal Aviation Administration (Stolzer, Halford & Goglia, 2011). The fact that poor maintenance may cost lives of many passengers makes quality control officers to enforce proper maintenance procedures. Some of the common obligations accomplished by quality control officers include examining various parts of an aircraft in order to check whether they need repair or not. The inspectors also inspect all the repaired parts to ensure that the job was done perfectly. Electricians Electricians play a significant role in enhancing that the electrical system of an aircraft performs as recommended within the set standards. All electricians are entitled to have a strong knowledge in electrical theory and be eligible of working with various electrical equipments (Castro, 2011). Electricians have an obligation of making sure that either the 14 or 28-volt-direct electrical system equipped in aircrafts is on condition eligible to perform various functions. Electricians also have an obligation of identifying whether there are faults related to the electrical system. Another obligation of electricians is to maintain facilities used for storage of various flammable materials in the aircraft. Moreover, it is the role of electricians to clean and preserve various electrical equipments employed in the aircraft. Aircraft maintenance organization has the obligation of making sure that electricians comply with the set standards while performing their duties. A single mistake made by electricians can cause a failure in electrical system operation, which may result to a breakdown of the aircraft. Therefore, it is the role of maintenance organization to make sure that electricians possess the recommended knowledge and skills in order to carry out their obligations. The maintenance organization performs various checks through their officers in order to make sure there are no possible faults in the electrical system. Another obligation of the maintenance organization is to check and clarify that electricians have legal certification of performing their entitled duties (Castro, 2011).
