We should look beyond the race of individuals if we want to address the issue of racism in our community.Your Heroes are not our heroes Christopher Columbus was a hero among most of the individuals around the world and his partners King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella.

King Ferdinand made Indians suffer during the exploration of America. Most individuals were tortured in the process, and Columbus became a hero to the Spaniards. It is ironic because the native individuals did not consider Columbus as their hero. Putting Moccasin on the other foot In the modern world, mascots are symbols of the numerous professional sports team in Native American. The action has sparked interest from various individuals because of their nature. The use of the mascots delivers the stereotypic message about the ethnicity of Americans.

The stereotypes do not portray the real image of their existence. The mascots help in racism because they change the perception of individuals towards racism in society.
