Miller Family After diagnosis with HIV condition, the infected individual faces physical, social, and psychological problems.Social, Psychological, and Physical Problems Related to HIV Diagnosis One of the physical problems is trauma. Mike experiences threats to survival and distress. Other physical problems include relentless fatigue, sweats at night, rashes, and undeliberate weight loss (Holland, William, and Paul 195). Consequently, distresses draw Mike into domain of powerlessness besides hopelessness.

Psychologically, diagnosis with HIV causes stress and mental disturbance. Other psychological problems include fear of forcible decline. Quality of life declines as well as anticipated losses. HIV diagnosis has social effects as well. Mike may develop hatred towards all opposite gender. Hatred emanates from the belief that the opposite gender infected him. One of the greatest challenges is fear of stigmatization. The community and friends of a positively diagnosed person may end up branding him.

Reaction of Mike’s Family Members about his Diagnosis Reception of HIV positive diagnosis news may involve disappointing feelings. Besides Mike, his family members also receive the information with denial. Family members tend to believe that the test lacked accuracy or their kin received a mixed up result. Anger and sadness or depression alongside stress, fear, and anxiety are also likely feelings with which the family members may react.Common Thoughts, Beliefs, Biases, and Fears of Mike about Family, Friends, and Community Based On Socio-Cultural Experiences Most HIV patients tend to adopt different perceptions against their friends, family, and community.

Patients may have beliefs that society members perceive them as promiscuous and careless. Some socio-cultural beliefs make patients think that community members perceive them as less productive in life. Other individuals treat HIV patients with sympathy and feeling of comfort and consolation (Poindexter 135).
