The concept of Good Strategy unfolds the idea that strategy can be implemented outside the world of business and organizations. It is not restricted to any industry settings. This concept further explores that coherence, logic, and practicality are the key elements that determine that whether a strategy applied is good or bad. The logic behind any applied strategy determines that whether the strategy is based after analyzing the challenging situation or not. Situation analysis is important before applying any strategy.

It is important for the management to understand the challenges before the implementation. Also, it is equally important to analyze all the factors that hinder the process. Strategies should be practical in their implementation which means that they should have coordination with the policies as well as with the actions on different tasks and goals. The author is trying to explain that the word, “strategy” is often misunderstood by the people in business, education and government. A good strategy not only motivates a person to move forward but it also helps the person to attain his goals by overcoming the hurdles and the challenges.

He believes the fact that a good strategy has three pillars: a guiding policy, diagnosis and a firm action. The guiding policy determines an applicable approach to help the person overcome the challenges after the diagnosis (problem identification) has been made. Practicality and realistic approach are the fundamental components required in creating a good strategy. The author has emphasized on developing a strategy that coordinates well with the challenges and the policies. The author further explains that it is difficult to build a good strategy.

To build a good strategy is a time consuming process. They are built without the help of any tools or techniques. Good strategies can only be devised on sound judgment and skillful insight. The mid-section of the book discusses various tools, logics,
